Is it too much to ask to create art with the people who truly get you? We don’t think so.
Filmmaking is expensive, time-consuming, and often isolating. Too many of us work for free, only for our films to sit unseen, delayed by festival timelines, or abandoned altogether. Networking feels awkward, support systems are rare, and the tools to promote our work are often inaccessible. Meanwhile, queer stories remain vulnerable—pushed to the margins of an industry that still prioritizes profit over authenticity.
That’s why we’re here.
Queer Motion is more than a space to make films. It’s a movement to reshape how we create and support one another. Together, we:
Meet. Make Films. Make Art. Make Friends.
Build spaces for practice, collaboration, and connection—free from judgment.
Help each other tell better stories, make better art, and build a better world.
This is not about individual success. It’s about collective growth. Here, you give to get: your time, knowledge, resources, or even your curiosity. Whether you can critique a script, teach a skill, lend equipment, or share your experience, your contribution matters. Together, we rise by lifting one another.
What we do:
- Collaborate on films, from idea to screen.
- Offer coworking sessions, workshops, and meetups.
- Distribute your films directly, bypassing traditional gatekeepers.
- Promote each other through interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and social media support.
How you can join:
Contribute. Show up. Be willing to help others as they help you. This is a collective effort, not a passive membership. Whether you have a short screenplay to produce, a skill to teach, or simply a desire to learn and connect, you are welcome here.
We’re building something radical—a space where queer artists can thrive together. If this speaks to you, apply to join us. Let’s create something extraordinary.
